People ask me all the time what Clifford eats, especially because he has some sensitivities. After completing food allergy testing, we’ve just started a hydrolyzed diet trial to see if it helps reduce itching and paw licking. Today is day one, so this is very much a “we’ll see how it goes” phase.
Why We’re Trying a Hydrolyzed Diet
Based on Clifford’s allergy test results, our vet recommended a hydrolyzed protein diet as a trial. These diets break proteins down into very small pieces so the immune system is less likely to react. The goal is to see whether his symptoms improve when potential food triggers are removed.
What Clifford Is Eating During This Trial
During this trial, Clifford will be eating only the prescribed hydrolyzed food — no treats, toppers, or extras — so we can accurately see how his body responds. We’re planning to stay consistent for several weeks before evaluating results.
